Plant Protection Division
Plant Protection Division was established as Plant Protection Section under Agricultural Extension Division in 1980-1981. Next, Plant Protection Section has been promoted to Plant Protection Division under Myanma Agriculture Service (Now, Department of Agriculture) in June, 1995.
Objectives
- To educate farmers modernized plant protection techniques
- To protect environmantal pollusion, health hazard of consumers and applicators by agrochemicals
- To conduct plant protection by Integrated Pest Management (IPM) as a basic and to lay down IPM formats for each and every crop
- To export/import exported/imported agricultural commodities in accordance with International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures
- To supervise and control quality agrochemicals to import/distribute in accordance with enacted laws
- Issuance of Phytosanitary Certificate (PC) for exported plants and plant products
- Issuance of Import Certificate (IC) for imported plants and plant products
- Inspection of imported plants and plant products by MACCS (Myanmar Automated Cargo Clearance System)
- Issuance of pesticide registration
- Issuance of pesticide licenses
- Issuance of pesticide import endorsement
- Issuance of pesticide residue, aflatoxin and heavy metal certificate
- Analyzing the status of pesticides poisons/hazard
