Plant Quarantine Section

1. Accepting the samples attached with application forms by inspecting plants and plant products and forestry products to conform with International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures
2. Issuance of Phytosanitary Certificate (PC) if the plants and plant products to be exported are free from injurious plant quarantine pests and are conformity with importing country
3. Issuance of Import Certificate if the plants and plant products are complete with the requirements and the required documents
4. Issuance of Hygiene Certificate to export mung bean for bean sprouting to Europium Countries (EU)
5. Issuance of ISPM-15 marking after supervising the treatment of wood packaging materials to be free from pests
6. Upon arrival of plant and plant products imported from abroad, they are inspected whether they are free from pests, approve/agree in Myanmar Automated Cargo Clearance System (MACCS) after inspecting IC from importing countries and PC issued from Myanmar are conformity with each other and performing to take commodity
7. Conducting training to departments, related departments and private organizations
8. Participating in compiling Technical Market Access Proposal (Data Information required for Pest Risk Analysis for plants and plant products which are wager to import and sell for market assess of Myanmar agricultural products
9. Performing to implement Electronic Phytosanitary Certification-ePhyto
10. Participating in GACC regulation procedures to be able to get permission for exporting plants and plant products officially
11. To get permission for GACC registration, inspecting the warehouses where the grains are stored by selected companies and inspecting the grains to be inspected according to the import requirement
12. Performing with other ministries, trade affairs related with abroad
13. Attending national and international trade affairs conference
14. Inspecting the diseases and seed borne diseases of plants and plant products importing according to the importing countries’ requirements
15. Participating in Pest Risk Analysis for requested plants and plant products to import
16. Participating in editing Protocol of Phytosanitary Requirement (draft)
17. Collecting data weekly for importing/exporting plant and plant products from plant quarantine border check-points and compiling Monthly Report/ Annual Report
